Welcome
Tuam Community Development Resource Centre was set up in 1993 as a local response to needs identified by local people.
It is a part of a network of community development projects around the country operating under the National Community Development Support Programme (CDSP).
The project is funded by the Department of Rural Community and Gaeltacht Affairs. This funding provides for the projects core costs.
Tuam Community Development Resource Centre is managed by a voluntary committee of people from the local community. We encourage the involvement in our project of people who experience poverty and social in order to influence the development and direction of the project exclusion. We support and promote collective action on issues of disadvantage and social exclusion.
We actively pursue the coordination and cooperation between voluntary and statutory in order to:
- Develop a common understanding of issues of disadvantage and social exclusion
- Ensure that these issues are targeted by the relevant agencies
- Promote the development of integrated responses to these issues
